Okada to Address Teens at Youth Conference

October 18, 2007
The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) President Daryn Okada will speak to teenage filmmakers during the Tower of Youth’s (TOY) 11th Annual North American All Youth Film and Education Day. The event is being held at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento, Calif., on October 19. The seminar titled The Art and Work of Seeing is from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Okada will discuss the role of the cinematographer in creating visually compelling images that help to tell stories.
The one-day event will also include screenings of teen-made movies from the United States and Canada that were selected by an all-youth jury. There will be a dialogue between the showcase’s youth movie producers and audience. Additionally, the attendees will have the opportunity to meet and network with representatives from several California-based media schools.
