DV Expo will play host to a number of the world's finest cinematographers as they participate in the show's Master Classes in Lighting seminars, which will be will be led by director of photography George Spiro Dibie, ASC. The participating cinematographers include: Richard Crudo, ASC; Allen Daviau, ASC; Michael Goi, ASC; Richard H. Kline, ASC; Daniel Pearl, ASC; Owen Roizman, ASC; David Stump, ASC; Rodney Taylor, ASC "It's fantastic that artists of this stature have made the time to pass along their knowledge at DV Expo," says DV magazine editor David E. Williams. "While many of their projects are major-studio feature film releases, the basic approach to lighting that they have each used in their respective credits can serve to inspire directors of photography using any kind of image-capture system, working at any level of production and at any budget. Most importantly, each approaches the creative process of lighting differently, and attendees will get a chance to discuss those unique techniques in an open and honest way. Note, however, that these classes are not just for directors of photography. This is a great opportunity for everyone who loves great lighting and creating great images." The four Master Classes will each feature different top cinematographers who will show clips from recent projects and discuss how the lighting was accomplished — also taking questions from the audience at hand. Dibie will serve as the host and moderator for the four sessions. The classes will be FREE to all Expo attendees and take place on on the show floor: Wednesday, November 5 – 2 sessions 1:00pm - 2:00pm and 3:30pm - 5:00pm Thursday, November 6 – 2 sessions 12:30pm - 2:00pm and 2:30pm - 4:00pm This event is sponsored in part by Litepanels. |
