ASC Primed for Cine Gear Events


LOS ANGELES — Cine Gear Expo, which will occupy the lot at Paramount Studios, 5555 Melrose Ave., from June 4-7, will put ASC cinematographers in the spotlight in a variety of events.

Documentary cinematographer Buddy Squires, ASC, will discuss working with the Arri Amira on June 6 at 6:15 p.m. in the Sherry Lansing Theater.

Daryn Okada, ASC, will discuss lighting and workflows for the Sony F55 on Let’s Be Cops and Dolphin Tale 2 in a presentation June 7 at 11:30 a.m. in the Paramount Theater.

George Spiro Dibie, ASC, will moderate a dialogue with fellow ASC members Guillermo Navarro, Daniel Pearl, Checco Varese, Michael Goi, Bill Bennett, Cynthia Pusheck, Paul Maibaum and Christopher Chomyn June 7 at 1 p.m. in the Sherry Lansing Theater.

ASC Technology Committee Chairman Curtis Clark will moderate the panel “3 Colorists and 2 Cinematographers” June 7 at 2 p.m. in the Paramount Theater.

Admission to all of these events is free to Cine Gear registrants.

Cine Gear will also sponsor master classes at various locations on June 8, and one of these is a lighting workshop featuring Chomyn and fellow ASC members Adam Greenberg and Roy H. Wagner at Mole-Richardson Co., 933 N. La Brea Ave., at 1:45 p.m. Tickets for this event are $75 and must be purchased separately.
