The greatest sorrow in all that is told about the world is that even in the year 2010, the human race STILL has not gotten its act together. I can live peacefully among people who are different from me. Those who cannot, I regard as egotistical and arrogant. Put down your arms, and open your arms. The human race will never reach its pinnacle until each and every person on this planet is regarded equally, and given the opportunity to reach his/her full potential. When? If ever; maybe never.

I am a Christain, and I do not understand Moishe's anger directed toward Christains.

Christains have long since been taught from the New Testament ( by the apostle Paul who use to hunt Jews that converted to Chritianity) that the Jewish people are God's chosen people and although he has offered salvation now to the Gentiles it shall always be the Jews , who are the chosen.

Thus the majority of Christains are in the majority of Israel's supporters.

I Love Joe Sacco's work I have read his Palestine comics as they have come out, and his many others.

Once again, you have brought to light an artist whom I didn't know. Thanks for sharing your insights.

The topics of his books are indeed "hot button" and mostly misunderstood by most of us.

Look I like Sacco. I understand seeing the unfairness of the situation. I too am very embarassed and angry by the behavior of Israel. What is lost here is that we Americans, that are not christian, are not treated fairly or correctly by the USA society. A Christian based society. Like Europe a series of zenophobic countries, the US is only really interested in supporting christian ideals to white people..Let's not forget about Arizona the first eruption of puss from the ever festering boil of hatred (in this country in a couple of years), by all white christians and i mean all white christian of anything not about christ or white skin. We Jews need Israel no matter how much I dislike their methods I need them, there doing what they do well maintaining a Jewish State which unless you are a Jew you will never know how unique that is. So yes I am one of the liberals who want to see both sides of the argument but the truth is I can't lose Israel no matter what...

Joe Sacco is an amazing artist who has the courage to present disturbing events that are critical to better understand the Israel/Palestine conflict. I've been aware for some time the disproportionate use of force used by the Israelis when they go into the Gaza strip. As Joe said in his interviews, both sides have behaved badly, but the difference is one side has prospered while the other has been imprisoned.

Thank you for sharing, once again.

I am reminded of the sixties protest song written by Stephen Stills and performed by the Buffalo Springfield “For What It’s Worth” part of the lyrics are:

Nobody's right if everybody's wrong

A thousand people in the street

Singing songs and carrying signs

Mostly saying, hooray for our side.

That seems to be a significant mind set among we humans. It takes a lot of effort to try and be objective and look at issues with an independent eye rather than simply following the heard and shouting “Hooray for our side”.

The plight of the Palestinians’ has far too long been ignored in North America. They are usually portrayed as the trouble makers and if only they would just do as they are told, all would be well. I have heard people that I know and consider to be intelligent, go ballistic at the very mention that the Palestinians' may actually have legitimate grievances in their treatment by the Israelis’. It is indeed a hot button issue for many. Maybe the path to peace should start with everyone curbing their dogma!
