Calvache is pleased with the way Little Children turned out and eagerly awaits his next collaboration with Field, which might be “a film noir in anamorphic.” As for whether the scale of production will be significantly greater, the answer may lie in Calvache’s memory of one Saturday during the Little Children shoot: “Todd and I went out with just a camera assistant and George Patsos and shot some second-unit scenes on a train going north on the Boston line. I get the feeling that’s the kind of filmmaking Todd likes the best — if he could make a movie with only the camera, him and me, I think he would be happy.”
