Fast Forward Video will unveil a robust set of new capabilities for its recently launched Elite HD camera-mounted digital video recorder and player. Harnessing the JPEG 2000 compression codec for recording HD-SDI video signals, the feature-rich Elite HD gives field producers and others even more power and flexibility for recording high-quality video while reducing the costs of storage media.
Final Cut Pro User Group Network Online
In addition to the group’s booth on the show floor, the Final Cut Pro User Group Network will hold the 8th Annual NAB SuperMeet on Tuesday, April 21 in the Rio Hotel. The Version 2.0 upgrade adds several features, including the ability to create MPEG-4 files post-recording for playback on the FS-5’s color LCD for proxy review in the field; the MPEG-4 clips can then be transferred to a host computer or a video-sharing Web site, or distributed to mobile media devices such as smart phones. Version 2.0 also includes the ability to wirelessly log metadata during recording in a format compatible with Avid NLE systems.

Visual-effects-software developer The Foundry will play host to a series of “behind-the-scenes” demos, including looks at how the company’s Nuke compositing software was used on such features as Iron Man and Watchmen. Focus Enhancements

Focus Enhancements will be showcasing a powerful new firmware upgrade for the company’s popular FS-5 direct-to-edit (DTE) recorder.
