The fixture casing is made of high-strength aluminium. The HMI/hr lamp mounts in a standard GZY9.5 single-ended socket for high efficiency. The igniter is watertight and will start hot or cold, even in wet conditions. The small DW 200 weighs in at 2.6 pounds with reflector and measures 4"x4"x3.75" without the reflector. In the open-face version, the light angle can be focused between 14° and 51° using the ergonomic focus knob. In the Par version, there are four lenses and the optional Fresnel lens to either spot or flood the light beam.

The EWB 200 AC ballast accompanies the new DW 200 fixtures. This extremely compact and lightweight (just 3.7 pounds), all-weather ballast is rated IP 43. The EWB 200 is equipped with an automatic voltage selection (90V AC to 265V AC, 50/60Hz) and is dimmable.

The Software Development Kit provides access to the Cinemage extensible architecture. With the SOAP-based SDK software, developers can integrate Cinemage features into software applications. A key feature in Cinemage 2.1 is the expanded support for 3-D look-up tables (LUTs) generated by third-party software applications. Weighing 4 ounces, the device allows an operator to exchange the counter-balancing weight system at the end of the lower spar (round weights) with the weight of any professional accessory weighing up to 1.5 pounds. Any accessory will fit securely to the Velcro surface on the plate. If the accessory does not weigh enough to balance the unit, the balancing weights included with the Steadicam Merlin can be attached to the underside of the plate. The Steadicam Merlin Accessory Plate is not limited to just one external device. It is possible to attach an additional unit to the bottom of the Velcro surface on the plate.
