Dedolight Expands LED Offerings

Dedolight has introduced a focusing LED line comprised of the DLED4 and DLED9. The fixtures, which are available in daylight, tungsten and bi-color versions, combine the double-aspheric optics of their traditional Dedolight counterparts with the energy-saving and cooling properties of LEDs. Available in mobile and studio versions, the fixtures boast even light distribution, “Dedocolor” and a complete range of light-shaping control tools.

“The focusing range, evenness of light beam, color accuracy and portability is unprecedented,” Paul Tepper, Dedolight president, says of the series. “The DLED4 and 9 have separate dimming adjustments with no color change. The bi-color units are continuously variable from 2,700°K to 5,600°K. They all focus like a true Dedolight, from a wide 60-degree flood to an extremely narrow 4-degree spot.”

The DLED4 works with all Dedolight light-shaping accessories and attachments and is powered from 90- to 264-volt AC or 10.2- to 18-volt DC, with optional power supply. The DLED9 works with all Dedolight 400-series light-shaping accessories and attachments and is powered from 90- to 264-volt AC.

Cineo Grows TruColor Family

Cineo Lighting has introduced the TruColor LS, a smaller, flexible addition to its TruColor family of soft lights.

The TruColor LS brings all of the advantages of the TruColor HS to a smaller, lower-priced package. The TruColor LS outputs up to 8,000 lumens using Cineo’s Remote Phosphor Technology (RPT) and boasts an aperture size comparable to that of an iPad. Interchangeable RPT panels allow color temperatures between 2,700°K and 6,500°K, matching the color quality of the TruColor HS.

“TruColor LS is a versatile source that delivers a large volume of color-accurate light even in tight spaces,” says Chris Varrin, Cineo’s CTO. “The fixture’s output matches a 1K soft source while drawing less than 150 watts.”

TruColor LS features several power options, including a small AC supply, DC, and the ability to gang several LS heads on a single HS power supply with independent DMX control. Like all of the TruColor products, LS operates flicker-free at up to 10,000 fps.

Litepanels Packages Croma, LS-Series Kits

Litepanels has released the Croma Flight Kit and LS Series lighting kits.

The Croma Flight Kit has a range of versatile power and mounting accessories and offers space for an additional lighting fixture or other items. Each compact kit includes three Croma LED fixtures and associated diffusion gels, ball-head shoe mounts, TVMP adapters, ¼-20 adapter kits, AC power supplies and compact light stands that extend from 19.3" to 6.2'. Additionally, the Croma Flight Kit is equipped with a Manfrotto Justin Spring Clamp for when a light source is needed in tight or confined locations. The gear stays secure and highly portable in a compact trolley-style hard case with a custom designed, rigid foam insert. All gear fits neatly into standard airplane overhead storage.

The Croma fixture combines both daylight- and tungsten-balanced LEDs that can be controlled via a single dial in order to match ambient light or create artistic accents. Through a similar manual control, the Croma also employs integrated, smooth dimming from 100 percent to 0 with no color shift. It is consistently flicker-free at any frame rate or shutter angle. Each Croma offers output comparable to a 40-watt HMI or 90-watt tungsten fixture and can be powered for up to 1.5 hours by six AA batteries for wireless operation.

The LS Series lighting kits feature Litepanels’ cost-effective 1x1 LED panels, which provide soft, full-spectrum illumination. Each kit comes with AC power supplies and light stands for each lighting fixture, as well as a rugged carrying case.

The LS Traveler Duo Kit provides a pair of daylight-balanced 1x1 LED fixtures: one LS Mono Flood with a beam angle of 50 degrees, and one LS Mono Spot with a beam angle of 30 degrees. Both fixtures can be dimmed from 100 percent to 0 via an on-fixture knob. The LS Traveler Duo is designed as a starter lighting kit for news crews and professional videographers. It weighs 25 pounds.

The LS Traveler Trio Kit is comprised of three daylight-balanced 1x1 LED fixtures: two LS Mono Floods and one LS Mono Spot. The LS Traveler Trio is developed for camera crews or independent shooters looking for a high-quality kit for three-point lighting, on-camera interviews or illumination of small locations. Weighing 46.5 pounds, the kit packs into a wheeled case. Users can add Anton/Bauer or V-mount battery-adapter plates to provide for cable-free lighting.

The LS Traveler Trio Plus Kit features two 1x1 LS Mono Bi-Colors — which feature a
50-degree beam angle and variable color from daylight and tungsten — and one 1x1 LS Mono Flood. With the two variable-color fixtures, the Trio Plus provides three-point portrait lighting options for interviews and standups, as well as the ability to match ambient color temperature when lighting a room or filling in a shadowed face outdoors. The LS Traveler Trio Plus, complete with tote and wheel case, weighs 46.5 pounds.
