CAMERAMAN THE LIFE AND WORK OF JACK CARDIFF
Directed by Craig McCall, this award-winning feature-length documentary is an intimate portrait of one of the greatest cinematographers to grace the industry. Legendary English cinematographer Jack Cardiff, ASC, BSC, started working on film sets in the silent era, and he went on to master color cinematography, particularly 3-strip Technicolor, on such films as The Red Shoes and Black Narcissus. Cardiff is one of just two cinematographers to be recognized with an honorary Academy Award. (Gordon Willis, ASC, is the other.) This star-studded documentary features extensive interviews with Cardiff, as well as interviews with colleagues and admirers such as Kirk Douglas, Lauren Bacall, Kim Hunter, Martin Scorsese, Thelma Schoonmaker and John Mills.
